CHANGE THE GAME FOR CHICAGO GIRLS – Summer in Chicago should be an awesome time for kids. Yet, far too many girls from Chicago’s most under-served neighborhoods are faced with the reality that warmer weather also means a sharp spike in crime, gangs and gunshots in their neighborhood.
For the past 20 years, more than 2,000 girls have spent their summer with Girls in the Game. These girls have a safe place to go each day as they play new sports, swim, make friends and learn important lessons on how to be a leader, make smart decisions and stay safe. These girls are the lucky ones – they have an alternative to the violence that surrounds them and come together with girls from over twenty different neighborhoods to learn positive ways to resolve conflict and to be a leader in their communities.
The majority of girls we serve live at or below the poverty level. Their families can pay some, but not the entire cost to attend camp. Our nonprofit camp is a life-changer for girls. Please help BE A GAME CHANGER and make it possible for even more girls to experience Girls in the Game.
